  19. 1. What does AutoLock do?

  22. AutoLock goes beyond the simple security built in to the Palm. AutoLock 
  23. automatically protects the data in your Palm by presenting you with a 
  24. password screen each time you turn on the Palm device. A common PIN security 
  25. interface is presented to the user. Your PIN can be up to 8 digits long.

  27. AutoLock also allows you to determine when the password must be entered.
  28.     Always, Once an Hour, Once a Day, Never
  29.  
  30. If you choose Always then you have even more choices:
  31.     Always Ask
  32.     15 seconds
  33.     1 minute
  34.     5 minutes
  35.     ...
  36.     12 hours
  37. If you choose 1 minute then if you turn your Palm device back on within 
  38. 1 minute you will not be prompted for the password.

  45. AutoLock requires Palm OS 3.5 or higher. This includes the Palm IIIc and 
  46. Palm IIIxe. Palm has not releases the ROM upgrades for older Palm devices.
  47. Please ask Palm about 3.5 upgrades - I can't do anything about it.

  83. Q. AutoLock is crashing and I can't reset my Palm device.
  84. A1. This is usually a result of AutoLock and another program conflicting.
  85. Hold the Up Arrow button and press the reset switch. This will reset
  86. the Palm device and not load any applications (other than AutoLock). You can
  87. then disable the conflicting application or remove AutoLock.

  89. Q. Where do I get Palm OS 3.5?
  90. A. Ask Palm Computing.

  92. Q. Does AutoLock run on the HandSpring Visor.
  93. A. No. The Visor does not accept ROM upgrades so you cannot upgrade to Palm 
  94. OS 3.5 which is required for AutoLock.

  96. Q. Will you release AutoLock for pre-3.5 systems?
  97. A. Probably not, but I'm looking into it. 3.5 has system support to allow AutoLock 
  98. to perform its function that is not available on previous systems.
